Councillor Brenner gave notice of a motion for February 4th concerning a recommendation of
TRCA to conduct review of OP in the north.
2.
Councillor Brenner also gave notice of a motion for January 21 st regarding the establishment of a
Domestic Violence Unit.

The following matters were discussed prior to the regular meeting:
(a) The Chief Administrative Officer commented on the situation at the bottom of Liverpool
Road concerning the Pickering Harbour Company and introduced Larry Field of the TRCA
to provide Council with further information with respect to the dredging of the channel
undertaken by the Pickering Harbour Company.

COW-2002-1
That the Committee of the Whole of the City of Pickering having met on January 14, 2002, presents its
first report to Council and recommends:
1.
OPERATIONS & EMERGENCY SERVICES REPORT OES 42-01
TRANS CANADA TRAIL
UXBRIDGE CONSERVATION ASSOCIATION
1. That Operations & Emergency Services Report OES 42-01 regarding the Trans Canada Trail
be received; and
2. That the Council of the City of Pickering having reviewed the application of the Uxbridge
Conservation Association to the Ontario Trillium Foundation, hereby advises that the
application has the support of the City of Pickering as it relates to those portions of the Trans
Canada Trail in Pickering.

CHIEF ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER REPORT CAO 01-02
FIRE SAFETY AND EMERGENCY RESPONSE MEMORANDUM
OF UNDERSTANDING BETWEEN THE CITY OF PICKERING AND
THE ONTARIO POWER GENERATION
1. That Report to Council CAO 01-02 concerning a Fire and Emergency Response
Memorandum of Understanding between the City of Pickering and the Ontario Power
Generation, be received; and
2. That Council authorize the appropriate officials of the City of Pickering to execute the
Memorandum of Understanding attached as Attachment No.1 to this Report; and
3. That a copy of this Report be forwarded to the Ontario Power Generation and the Canadian
Nuclear Safety Commission.

1. That Legal Report L 01-02 regarding Road Closing and Conveyance of City Lands, be
received; and
2. That a resolution be passed authorizing the Solicitor for the City to commence the process of
stopping-up and closing those parts of Lot 31, Concession 1, Pickering, designated as Parts 1
and 3, Plan 40R-20797 for the purpose of conveying the lands back to the abutting owners
for nominal consideration.
