HomeMy WebLinkAboutJuly 14, 2014 2/10/2015 City of Pickering 4 PiCKERiNG NG Hide Left Content O Hide Right Content Council Highlights July 14, 2014 Eastern Mainline Project - TransCanada Representatives from TransCanada attended the Council meeting to provide a presentation on the proposed Eastern Mainline Project Route through the City of Pickering. The presentation outlined the need for new energy infrastructure between the City of Markham and the community of Iroquois in South Dundas Township. Official Plan Amendment Application OPA 14-001/P Amendment 26 to the Pickering Official Plan Council approved Report PLN 14-14 on the City initiated Official Plan Review:City Centre Intensification and Redevelopment,to change existing policies and add new policies to create a framework for the redevelopment and intensification of the City Centre. The amendment application also identifies required transportation connections within,from and to the City Centre in support of anticipated population and employment growth to 2031 and beyond. Council recommended that staff finalize the City Centre Urban Design Guidelines and bring them back to Council for endorsement. See Report PLN 14-14 for more information. Community Engagement Strategy Report Council approved Report CR 16-14,Annual Report and Status Update&Priorities for 2014-2015 which outlines five key community engagement priorities for 2014 and 2015. See Report CR 16-14 for more information. 2014 Municipal Election - Compliance Audit Committee Council approved Report CLK 05-14,which recommends the appointment of three individuals to the 2014-2018 Municipal Compliance Audit Committee to review applications relating to candidates'financial statements for the 2014 City of Pickering Municipal Election.
