MINUTES
A meeting of the Local Architectural Conservation Advisory Committee was held on
Wednesday, August 12, 1994 at 7:00 p.m. in the Pickering Civic Complex, Lower Meeting
Room.

The main library is further requested to obtain copies of The District Plan for the
Hamlet of Whitevale prepared in June 1990. The Background Report prepared in
August 1989, A Guide for Whitevale Heritage Conservation District and any other
relevant information about the Whitevale Heritage Conservation District by Unterman,
MacPhail, etc. for the information of the residents of Pickering. A letter to be sent to
the library administration with this request.
d) The Library be requested to attach small stickers acknowledging receipt from Heritage ?
Pickering of four(4) framed pictures in black and white in 1993. The pictures include
the Liverpool House and were presented to Heritage Pickering during Heritage Week
of that year.
e) Frank Williamson visited the History Room of the Library recently and obtained a list
of photographs that were part of the North Pickering Project and the Toronto Area 1
Airports Project Sites Architectural Evaluation. The photographs of which there are !
259 may be useful for Heritage Pickering's inventory of possible heritage properties.
The staff of the library have pledged assistance to Heritage Pickering in obtaining
copies of these photos.
f) Frank Williamson has also volunteered to review photographs of possible heritages a '/'
properties presently owned by Heritage Pickering. sQm '
g) Anna Willson suggested that the committee begin making plans for Heritage Week , 1
1995 in the near future and that the suggestions would be welcome. The week is
usually in February.
h) Suggestions have been made that The Museum Village, The History Room of the
library and Heritage Pickering discuss common areas so that each organization is -_--
aware of the activities of the others. The members of Heritage Pickering were
agreeable with some reservations.

i) In honor of the imminent birth of the chairman's first child the committee has presented
her with a baby's blanket and good wishes for the occasion.

j) A letter from Richard Schatz, Property Administrator, Management Board Secretariat,
Province of Ontario regarding the demolition of a small bungalow at 663 Rougemount
Drive, Pickering for the proposed widening of Highway 401 was received. The
committee has no objection to the request for demolition as the house has no heritage
or historical significance. A letter to be sent to this effect.
