public washrooms must be accessible from the inside as well
as the outside for those participating in inside activities
Wally suggested a full drawing indicating the location on the
site, access, landscaping, and placement in comparison to
surrounding buildings
Further suggestions made were as follows:
The lower Operations Building should include: washrooms;
kitchen facilities for food preparation; emergency area with
first aid supplies, wheelchair and bed; telephone; and
storage area for tables and chairs
The Upper Building could be used for costume storage and
dressing room facilities for staff and volunteers, program
space, storage of program materials and equipment, and
storage of cleaning and maintenance equipment and
supplies
A sub-committee will meet on April 29th at 1 p.m. on site to
discuss this idea. The sub-committee will include Laura,
Pat, Bill Utton, Terry, Dave and Steve.
3. City Support Statement
Steve advised that Councillor McLean is very supportive of this
concept. He further advised that a tour of the site was taken
last week by Tom Quinn, Chief Administrative Officer, Everett
Buntsma, Director, Operations and Emergency Services, Dave
Marlowe and himself.
Tom Quinn was very involved in moving the buildings onto the
site and is well aware of the required hotel renovations.
Steve also advised that Tom is very supportive of the concept
and of staffs participation in the project and is prepared to work
with the Committee to make this major project a reality.
4. Foundation Support Statement
Bill Utton stated that a soil test should be undertaken before
any more funds are spent on this proposal to ensure the land
planned to house the hotel is suitable.
The following must be considered by the sub-committee:
Soil testing
Cost of restoration
Temporary housing of supplies
Toronto Region Conservation Authority involvement
