C. Celebre noted a request for proposal is being prepared for a
heritage consultant to review approximately 13 properties which
were identified along Whitevale Road corridor and identified as
Heritage Lots. Councillor Rodrigues inquired about which
properties this would involve, and C. Celebre noted she could
provide addresses.
J. Dempsey questioned whether her property, 3285 Sideline 20
was identified in the report, and questioned the designation
procedures.
C. Celebre noted that the report for 2865 Sideline 16 which went
forward to Committee in January of this year, referenced the
investigation of these properties. She noted it was intended that
we move forward with evaluation of the significant heritage lots C. Celebre to
along Whitevale Road. action
Discussion ensued with respect to the Province's plans to put
some properties in Seaton up for sale next year.

contact her. She noted that closer to the event date, the sub-
committee meets once a month. She provided details on what
would be discussed as follows;
• Proposed sites, brochures, contact person for sites
• Preparing packages for participants
• Reviewing what worked and what did not last time
• Choosing a date for the event
• K. Pike from the Pickering Museum would be the liaison for
communications
• Discussing the possibility of having a booth at the Farmer's
Market at Pickering Town Centre for promotional purposes
C. Celebre also noted that the bus tours worked well previously.
It was also noted that proposed sites could include private
residences, commercial properties, cemeteries and churches.

noting she had met with Becky George from the Pickering
Library. She noted that B.George had informed her the Library
has a large amount of heritage information, but not all of it is
catalogued. She also noted that B. George indicated she would
welcome any volunteers who may wish to assist with this.
J. Van Huss noted herself and D. Joyce would arrange a meeting
with the Manager of Technology at the Library to discuss
improvements to the Heritage website.
J. Van Huss noted that B. George would be willing to attend our
next meeting to provide members with what heritage information
is available at the Library and how it is accessible. She also
informed members that B. George had advised that access to the
genealogy society is available through the Library. J. Van Huss
also noted that the website durhamoqs.on.ca was very good.
Register
W. Jamadar was unable to attend the meeting, but provided his
update as follows; •
Has submitted the "built" dates on his assigned properties to Mike
and uploaded approximately 14 photographs to the Flickr website
on properties he was able to find or were visible from the street.
As M. Sawchuck was unable to attend, J. Van Huss noted that he
would like to remind everyone to send him their sections of the
heritage register and post their photos on Flickr. He will then
bring the completed register to the next meeting.

concerns with photographing properties. J. Van Huss noted that

J. Van Huss noted she would forward members an email
showing a short video clip documentary of Goderich for
information purposes. This is in relation to a heritage related TV
show, which focuses on heritage architecture in Canada,
featuring various Towns and Cities. It is called "Heritage Places"
and provides contact information for anyone interested in having
their town featured. This could be something to consider doing
in the future.

6.1) C. Celebre noted she had received a letter from Mattamy
Homes with an updated report on 1450 Whitevale Road,
including photos. The barn on this property had been dismantled
and the Pickering Museum has now received all salvage items
they require. C. Celebre noted that Mattamy is wanting to secure
the site now and if the Museum is still wishing to obtain any
remaining beams, this would be the last chance to do so.
6.2) C. Celebre inquired whether members would like to meet in
July, due to this being an election year, with limited meetings L. Roberts to
remaining. July 17th was noted as a possible date. Email will go action
out to determine attendance.
