appropriate) 1.0 Welcome Pamela welcomed Committee members as well as Tom Melymuk, Director, Office of Sustainability to the meeting 2.0 Approval of Minutes Minutes of the October 16th
meeting Moved by Theresa Abernethy Seconded by Gordon Zimmerman Carried New and Unfinished Business 3.1 Seaton Lands Tom Melymuk, Director, Office of Sustainability, appeared before
the Committee and provided a presentation on the Seaton Lands. He gave a brief history of the various proposed developments from the past, as well as a basic summary to date. The following
points were touched on:

20,000 acres · Seaton lands approximately 5,000 to 6,000 acres · Central Pickering Development Plan is currently on the City’s website, which reflects the Seaton lands to the east, and
agricultural preserve to the west · City’s responsibility to put details to plans Discussion ensued on various aspects of the Seaton lands, including greenspace, sustainable performance
measures, servicing, and timeframes for development. Tom informed the Committee that the Province has turned over land to four major developers. He indicated the work in progress through
colour coded maps. Discussion ensued with respect to incorporating heritage homes into the community. He indicated the plans are in a more advanced stage now. Pamela suggested that Tom
look at the heritage listings on Whitevale Road and indicated a resolution of Council had been passed in this regard approximately two years ago. A question and answer period ensued:
· It was questioned at what point in the planning Heritage Pickering would be involved – no formal timetable has been set at this point · Need to maintain existing structures · Cultural
landscape – there may be more of an impact along Hwy #7 as opposed to Whitevale Road · Structures as well as roads · Jobs first, prior to houses · Should retain country flavor · How
many lanes would road consist of (most likely 4 as opposed to 6) · Timeframe – working on Terms of Reference, early in the New year · Pumping stations – EA’s to be done · Council’s position
is not to build until jobs are there · Policies and guidelines – ways in which new development will protect heritage structures · Need to clarify minimum lot sizes · # of heritage homes
– 12 regional significance 13 local significance · Specific planning in each area inside boundaries · Interim control · Vacant buildings are a major concern Debi to provide Tom with

staff – Tom indicated he would be the contact for taking any recommendations from the Committee · Public notification process was explained Gordon Zimmerman noted that owners should
be made liable to maintain homes in a habitable condition and questioned whether there was any legislation with respect to this and also whether the municipality had any power. Additional
points: · Developer can sell homes now, ones of interest could potentially be destroyed before any heritage designations can be placed on them · Province has retained some lands in Seaton,
those within the heritage district are still owned by the Province – Tom indicated on the map which areas · City is developing a website early next year on Seaton, which Heritage Pickering
could add information on as well · To be as open and transparent as possible · City to have control over what is built through the planning process · Make clear distinction between original
heritage structures and newly constructed heritage homes 3.2 Draft Plan of Subdivision SP-2004-05 Pamela outlined the history with respect to the home on Kingston Road. The developer
has made an effort to clear the property. It was agreed that the previous recommendations apply. Pamela to forward letter to Planning. 3.3 Ontario Realty Corporation Hand outs were provided
on the properties scheduled for demolition. The only concern noted was with the property located at 685 Hwy 7. Shirley will take a closer look at this property. 3.4 Meeting Dates for
2008 Hand outs were provided for tentative meeting dates for 2008. Pamela to action Shirley to action

Approval of Heritage Pickering Brochure Hand outs were provided for the Heritage Pickering Brochures. Some revisions are necessary. Shawna will work on these and bring back to the January
meeting. 3.6 Status of Inventories Shawna and Gordon provided an update on the status of the inventories. It was noted this is an ongoing process. It was noted that a map showing the
Lot and Concession numbers would be very helpful in order to complete the inventory. Discussion ensued with respect to the inventory and which areas to proceed with first. Gordon and
Shawna requested direction on how best to complete the inventory. It was suggested that for now we get the basic information, i.e. basic description and address, in order to compile
a list. Further information could possible be provided through City of Pickering staff. It was also suggested that we start with the southern areas, (from the 5th Concession down) as
there has never been an inventory done in that area. 3.7 Workplan Handouts were provided on the 2007 workplan and a brief discussion ensued. Shawna to action 4.0 Correspondence 4.1)
2008 Budget Hand outs were provided on the memo from Debi Wilcox with the 2007 expense statement attached. It was noted there will be three outstanding invoices to be paid by year end.
The brochure will be finalized in January. No changes were made to the budget at this point. 4.2 4555 Whitevale Road Gordon Wilson appeared before the Committee with respect to roadwork
done and the drainage problems in the area of Whitevale Road.

to staff to ask that Heritage Pickering be consulted prior to any roadwork that needs to be done in heritage districts in order to ensure the guidelines in place are met. Another suggestion
was made with respect to the consideration of a qualified landscape architect to help advise staff on these issues. Pamela to action 5.0 Other Business 5.1 615 Whitevale Road Pam had
a newspaper article with respect to repairs required and the status on 615 Whitevale Road. She also passed around another article with respect to the repairs to the Christain House.
These were clippings from the News Advertiser. 5.2 2008 Tapestry Event Pam informed the Committee we had been invited to participate in the Tapestry event to be held on Saturday, June
7, 2008. Committee will participate 5.3 Heritage Day Celebration Pam informed the Committee we had had been invited to participate in the Heritage Day Celebration to be held on February
16, 2008. The Committee agreed to participate. 5.4 December Christmas Dinner It was decided to have a Christmas dinner on December 18th, location to be announced. 6.0 Next Meeting January
