1.0 Welcome
Laura welcomed everyone and outlined the events that have
happened at the Pickering Museum Village so far this year.
Members provided an update on their experiences at the
Museum this summer.
2.0 Approval of Minutes and Agenda

That the minutes from May 19, 2011 be approved.

3.0 Update
At the walkabout on May 19/11, some advisory committee
members expressed their disappointment of the work done on
the heritage buildings.

Seconded by Karen Chalmers
That Laura Drake will write a letter to Culture & Recreation
Division, copying Supply & Services, requesting that
heritage restoration experts only be considered for work
done on heritage properties at the Pickering Museum Laura to complete
Village.

Katrina let members know that our Time Traveler Camp and
Education Programs have exceeded 2011 registration. Camp
& Tour Guide Staff were outstanding.
Members were given the Special Events line up for 2012.

Whodunit?: The Big Top -July 14, 15, 21 & 22
A Spirit Walk - September 14, 15, 21 & 22
Fall Family Festival - September 30
Christmas in the Village - December 9

That the 2012 Special Events line-up be accepted as
outlined above.

Stuart reported on the surveys that were done with visitors at Special Event sub-
the events. Accessibility was the most common concern committee to consider
among our guests. It was suggested that feedback be and implement.

Marisa will enquire about this additional parking for the. Fall Marisa to action

4.0 PMV Strategic ' Plan
Marisa has not received any formal feedback from the City
Clerk's office regarding the Pickering Museum Village Strategic Marisa to action.

5.0 Sub-Committee Reports'
Collection
Due to the busy summer, this sub-committee have not met,
however, Paul Savel will set up a time to meet shortly.
The. Green exhibit, presently in the Administration Building, will
be moving to the library on September 10. Congratulations to
Ellen and Rachael Moutoussidis on an excellent exhibit.
Suggestion was made that a full inventory including photos be
done on the Gas & Steam Barn.

That Katrina will recommend to Harold that a full inventory
including photos be done of the Gas & Steam Barn in 2012. Katrina to action

Marisa will follow up on the shed in Brougham. What is Marisa to action
happening with it?
Special Events
Kathy McKay of the Ajax/Pickering Board of Trade has given Laura to follow up
Laura 3 names of marketing people that would volunteer their
services.
Laura gave a brief overview of the Rag Doll and Ragtime event
day held on August 7.
Note: Rose Cowan arrived at 8:00 pm.
Rose informed the members that the Whodunit was very
successful and the Fall Family Festival on October 2 needs
volunteers. On September 13, 4:00 pm - 8:00 pm, McDonalds
is having a fundraising day for the Pickering Museum Village
Foundation. Fifteen percent of food sales will go to the
Foundation.
Restoration & Capital Expense
Harold Quinton has not received any feedback from his
presentation given to the TRCA regarding a train running from
the museum village to Greenwood Conservation Area.
The Advisory Committee still supports the research and
business study of the train.

6.0 Budget
At the next advisory committee meeting, Marisa will present the Marisa to action
draft Pickering Museum Village 2012 Current and Capital
Budget, as prepared by staff. Marisa will seek endorsement of
these budgets from the committee.
7.0: Other Business
Congratulations to Marisa Carpino on her promotion to (Acting)
Manager, Culture & Recreation.
Congratulations to Jody Morris on her promotion to (Acting)
Supervisor, Culture & Recreation. Jody will be attending the
September Advisory Meeting.
