Executive Summary: This report recommends that the appointments schedule of the City's Building By-law 6603/05 be amended to reflect the retirement of a Building Inspector and the appointment of a new Fire Inspector. Financial Implications: Not applicable Sustainability Implications: Not applicable Background: Council currently has in place By-law 6603/05, with amendments, which is required to provide for the administration and enforcement of the Building Code Act within the City. This By-law includes a schedule of persons appointed pursuant to the Act. The recent retirement of Bob Lalonde as a plumbing inspector on January 7, 2011 and the recent hiring of Robert Watson as a fire inspector on January 10, 2011 requires that the respective names be removed and added to the Schedule. OBq1fi-N B eing a by-law to amend Schedule A of By-law 6603/05 appointing the Chief Building Official, Deputy Chief Building Official and Inspectors. Whereas, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 3(1) of the Building Code Act, 1992, S.O. 1992, chapter 23, provides that the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering is responsible for the enforcement of the Act within the City of Pickering; Whereas, pursuant to By-law 6603/05, Council appointed a Chief Building Official and such Inspectors as are necessary for the enforcement of the Act within the City of Pickering; and Whereas, as a result of staff changes, the By-law to appoint these individuals must be amended to reflect the retirement of an existing inspector and the appointment of a new inspector. Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby enacts as follows: 1. Schedule A of By-law 6603/05 is hereby deleted and replaced with Schedule A attached hereto.
