BY-LAW NO.6184/03
Being a by-law to appoint Perdita Felicien as
the City of Pickering's Ambassador to the
World.
WHEREAS Perdita Felicien is a resident of the City of Pickering who has brought
international acclaim to the City through her victory in the 100 metre hurdles at the 2003
World Track and Field Championship at Paris, France on August 27, 2003; and
WHEREAS Perdita Felicien, through her victory at the 2003 World Track and Field
Championship, set a Canadian record with a winning time of 12.53 in the 100 metre
hurdles; and
WHEREAS Perdita Felicien has won many other Provincial, National and International
awards leading up to her victory at the 2003 World Track and Field Championship; and
WHEREAS the residents of the City of Pickering are very proud of Perdita's
accomplishments and the acclaim that she has brought to the City; and
WHEREAS Perdita's victory is an inspiration to the youth of the community that they
can achieve their goals if they work at it;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Perdita Felicien is here appointed by Council as the City of Pickering's
Ambassador to the World.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this 29th day of
September, 2003.
