OTHER BUSINESS
1.
Councillor Brenner, seconded by Councillor Ryan, gave notice of a motion to
proceed with an injunction and overturn the Orders respecting the Seaton area
based on the Superior Court of Justice Hearing regarding the Ontario Realty
Corporation and the disposal of land in Markham.
2.
Councillor Ryan, seconded by Councillor Brenner, gave notice of a motion
concerning objection to privatization of inspecting nuclear facilities.
3.
Councillor Pickles, seconded by Councillor Johnson, gave notice of a motion
concerning traffic signage.
4.
Councillor Pickles requested staff to review improvements to Glengrove Park
through the 2003/2004 Budget.
5.
Mayor Arthurs advised that he will be meeting with senior staff respecting his
duties during the Provincial campaign.
6.
Councillor Holland requested staff to investigate Balsdon Park and options for its
improvement.
7.
Councillor Johnson, seconded by Councillor Brenner, gave notice of a motion
concerning stop signs.

Councillor Johnson, seconded by Councillor Pickles, gave notice of a motion
concerning No Parking.
9.
The following matters were discussed prior to the regular meeting:
a) Councillor Pickles requested staff to investigate the possibility of erecting
signs on Brock Road south of Concession 3, advising trucks not to use their
engine brakes.
b) Councillor Pickles also requested the Solicitor for the City to investigate a
landscaping structure on Thicket Lane.
c) Councillor Pickles questioned the licensing requirements for ice cream trucks.
d) Councillor Pickles questioned the status on the placement of Group Homes
within Pickering.
e) Mayor Arthurs thanked senior staff for their support during the absence of the
Chief Administrative Officer.
f) Councillor Holland requested staff to investigate by-laws restricting ice cream
trucks.
