HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 636/77YjwLAW REPEALED BY' REPEALS AMENDED BY AMENDS DISPOSITION THE CORPORATION of THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER ? d Being a By-law to amend By-law 182/75, prohibiting the parking of motor vehicles in fire access routes WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of F-ic3kering passed on March 3rd, 1975 Hy-late Number 182/75 prohibiting the parking of motor vehicle.* in fire access routes; AND WHEREAS it is deemed exp=edient to amend that By-law at this time; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF ?'Fs'E CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICXER..:NC HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: It Clause (i) of section 1 of By-lawn 182/75 is hereby revoked and the following substituted therefor: (i) "A fire access route" means - any road, driveway, lane, ramp, or other means of vehicular access or egress to or from a "designated building" to a public highway, incluei.ng any part of a parking lot set aside by visible marking or markers for the purpose of motor vehicle movement, and which is designated as a fire access route by the Fire Department of the Town of Pickering, and is marked by a "Fire Access Route Sign" or signs, as the case may be, by the Owner of the designated building. 2. Clause (j) of Section of the said By-law is hereby revoked and the following substituted therefor: (j) "Fire Access Route Sign" -means - a permanently legible sign, placed at intervals of not more than One Hundred (100) feet along the fire access route and which shall display the following information: (i) that parking is prohibited; (ii) the number of this By-law (182/75); - 2 - and may display in addition to the above the following information: (iii) fire a(:cess route (iv) that motor vehicles may be tagged or towed away and shall be in size a minimum of 12" x 18". 3. Section 7 of the said By-law is hereby revoked and the following substituted therefor: 7. Any person who contravenes any of the provisions of this By-law shall be liable upon conviction thereof to a fine not exceeding Three Hundred Dollars ($300.00) for each offence, exclusive of costs, recoverable under the provisions of The Summary Convictions Act.
