A BY-LAW TO OPEN A ROAD THROUGtI pARTS OF LOTS 24 and 25 IN THE THIRD
CONCESSION OF PICKERING.
BE IT ENACTED by the Municipal Counoil of the Township of Picketing
and it is hereby enacted that the road surveyed and laid out by
John Shier, a Provincial I~nd Surveyor, between Lots 24 and 25 in
the 3rd Concession, Picketing, as appears by his report and plan
dated Whitby 18th July, 1856, which site of a road as aforesaid may
be more definitely described and denoted as follows, that is to say,
Commencing on the easterly limit of the said allowance at the distance
of 20 chains and 74 links from the south w~st angle of the said Lot
No. 24 and running thence N. 2° 23' E 4 chains 7 links thence N. 42°
8' W. 3 chains 56 links thence N. 74° 29' W. 1 chain 24 links thence
N. 35° 31' W. 4 chains 19 links thence N. 13° 52' W. 1 chain 34 links
thence N. 34° 25' E. 2 chains 20 links to the westerly limit of the
said road allowance, the said road to be one chain wide and the above
described line to be the centre thereof, be and the same is hereby
established as a public road or highway.
