Being a By-law to provide for %he
licensing of Auctioneers wi%bin the
Township of Picketing, and to repeal
By-law ~.
WHEREAS the Corporation of the Township of Pickerimg
has pursuant to The Municipal Act, R.SoO. 1960, Chapter 2&9,
Section 399, authority %o enact this By-law.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE
tOWNSHIP OF PICKERING ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. It shall nog be lawful for any person within the
~ownship of Picketing, to carry on the business of an Auctioneer
~r to sell or put up for sale, goods, wares, merchandise or effects
by public auction, without first having obtained a licence for so
doing from the Municipal Law Enforcement Officer, or such other
person as may be appointsd go issue licences within the Township
9f Pickering~
2. The sum to be paid for a licence under this By-law shall
0e $25.00 per year or part thereof.
Every licence issued under this By-law shall be renewable
~n the 31st day of January of each year.
Any person convicted of a breach of the provisions of
;his By-law shall forfeit and pay, at the discretion of the Court,
~ penalty not exceeding $300.00 exclusive of cos%s, for each offence.
By-law Number 8~ is hereby repealed.
This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the
