OF PICKERING Being a By-law to amend By-law No. 2610o WHEREAS By-law No. 2610 provided for the imposition of a Sewer Rate pursuant to the provisions of Section 41 of The Ontario Water Resources Commission Act and Section 380 of The Municipal Act; AND WHEREAS the said By-law No. 2610 provided that the Sewer Rate be computed in part by imposing a rate equivalent to 50% of the water rates charges charged in respect of lands designated therein, deemed to derive a benefit from the sewage works, in respect to which the rate was imposed; AND WHEREAS it is now deemed desirable to amend By- law No. 2610 so as to provide for computing the sewer rate in part by the imposition of a mill rate on the assessed value of the lands deemed to derive a benefit from the said sewage works in place of the water rate charge as aforesaid; NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Picketing ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. That subsection (b) of Section 3 of By-law No. 2610 be repealed and the following substituted therefor: "3. (b) A mill rate on the assessed value of all lands designated in Schedule "A" attached hereto and forming a part of this By-law, computed so as to raise money that, when added to the monies collected under subsection (a), will be sufficient to meet the payments falling due in each year in accordance with the precept of The Ontario Water Resources Commission issued with respect to this project." 2. That this By-law shall come into force upon receiving the approval of The Ontario Municipal Board thereto. READ a FIHST, SECOND and THIRD time and finally PASSED THIS 6/~ Clerk M ~'~ By-Law #3~55 SCHEDULE "A" being lands to which an annual per foot frontage rate of 40~ per foot, an annual charge for sewer connections were applicable of $7.21 per connection and a mill rate on the assessed value of all designated lands computed so as to raise money that will be sufficient to meet the payments falling due in each year in accordance with the precept of The Ontario Water Resources Commission issued with respect to this project.
