A BY-LAW OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO PROVIDE
FOR A VOTE BEING TAKEN OF THE ELECTORS IN BAY RIDGES ON THE QUESTION~
"ARE YOU IN FAVOUR OF THE ESTABLISHMENT OF A COMMUNITY HALL?"
BE IT ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the
Townshlp of Pickerlng:
1. THAT a vote of the electors in Bay Ridges be taken on the
question, "Are you in favour of the Township of Picketing issuing
debentures up to $50,000.00 to build a Community Hall in Bay ~dges,
and that the repayment of such debentures be a charge against that part
of the Township of Picketing comprising all the lands included in the
Bay Ridges area, more particularly described as follows:
All of Lots 21 to 27 inclusive in Ranges 1, 2 and 3.
All of Lots 21 to 23 inclusive in Concession 1 south of the
Canadian National Railway,
AND EXCLUDING the areas particularly known as and including ~irport,
Fairport Beach, and Dunbarton Shores.
2. In this By-law, "e&ectors" shall mean persons entitled to vote on
money by-laws in the Bay Ridges area, as described in Clause 1.
3. The votes of the Electors shall be taken on the said question on
the 4th day of December, A.D, 1965, between the hours of 10 o'clock in the
forenoon and elgbt o'clock in the afternoon, at the various Polling
Booths at the same time and place as the Municipal Elections ~e held.
4. On the ~th day of December, A.D., 1965, at the hour of 10 o'clock
in the forenoon, the Head of the Council of the said Corporation, or
some members of the said Council appointed for that purpose by resolution,
shall attend at the office of the Clerk of the said municipality, in the
Village of Brougham, for the purpose of appointing, and if requested so to
do, appoint by writing, two persons to attend the final summing up of
the votes by the Clerk - one person to attend on behalf of the
person entrusted in the voting in the affirmative on the said question,
and a like number on behalf of the persons interested in and voting in
the negative on the said question.
5. On the 10th day of December, 1965, at the hour o~ 10 o'clock in the
forenoon, at the office of the Clerk of the municipality, the Clerk
shall attend and sum up the votes given in the affirmative and negative
on the said question.
6. That those areas outlined in Clause No. 1, be more particularly
those areas covered by the Consolidated Building Corporation subdivision
agreement, and all subsequent supplementary subdivision agreements with
the said Consolidated Building Corporation.
