EXEMPT CERTAIN FARM LANDS FROM TAXATION FOR CERTAIN EXPENDITURES
OF THE MUNICIPALITY.
WHEREAS Chapter 23, Section 37, of the Assessment Act, provides
or~ exemption of certain farm lands from taxation for ex-
penditures incurred by the Township of Picketing for fire
protection;
AND WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to grant such exemption;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Corpor-
ation of the Township of Picketing:
1. THAT this By-Law shall apply to lands in the Township of
Picketing held and used as farm lands only and in blocks of
not less than five acres by any one person.
~ 2. Lands described by Paragraph 1 of this By-Law are hereby
' exempted from expenditures for fire protection to the extent
of 90% (per cent) of the assessed value of such lands.
The said exemption shall not apply to the assessed value
of any buildings on any lands.
