FOR THE REMOYAL OF SNOW AND ICE FROM SIDEWALKS IN THE TOWNSHIP.
NOW THEREFORE BE IT AND IT IS HEREBY ENACTED:
1. Tho occupants of 811 classes of bu/ldinEs in the
eh_t_ll clear ·way ·nd remove enow ·nd ice fr~m thc sidewalks
on the hiEhways in front of, alon~eide, or at the rear of
such bu~ldin~8 W~thin nine hours from the time when such enow
or ice shall have fallen or accumulated thereon, so that
such eidewu/ks shall be kept clear of. snow ·nd ice.
2. In case snow ~nd ice ie not cleared ·way ·nd removed
the sidewalks on the hiEhwaye in front of, alongside, or
the roar of all classes of unoccupied bulldin~s or vacant
lands w~tb/n n~ne hours from the the when such snow or ice
shall have fallen or accumulated thereon, the Township
Engineer, or such other person ·s may be authorized by the
Council free time to time, may proceed to have such snow er
ice cleared away ·nd removed free such sidewalk ·t tho
expense of the owner of the lands on which such build/ag
ie situated, or of the vacant lands, ·s the case m~Y be,
and the expense incurred in doing such work shall be
recovered in like manner ·s Municipal taxes.
3, Any person convicted of a broach of this Dy-Law shall incur
a penalty not exceeding Fifty Dollars, ($50.00) to be
recovered under the Ontario Sumnary Convictions Act, and
in default of payment shall be liable to be /mprieJned in
the common jail in the County of Ontario for ·ny period
not exceedin~ ten days.
