A BY-LAW OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING TO LEVY A SPECIAL RATE ON THE
TAXABLE PROPERTY IN THE POLICE VILLAGE OF CLAREMONT, TO DEFRAY THE
COST OF STREET LIGHTS AND OTHER SPECIAL PURPOSES IN THE SAID VILLAGE
FOR THE YEAR 1959.
WHEREAS the Trustees of the Police Village of Claremont have requested
the levy of a special rate of 2.4 Mills on the Dollar upon all the
rateable property in the said Village to defray the cost of maintaining
street lights, and to meet the costs of other sundry Village requirements,
during the year 1959;
AND WHEREAS the total taxable property in the said Police Village is
the sum of $ 434,838.79;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Council of the Township of
Pickering;
THAT there be raised, levied and collected from and upon all the
rateable property in the Police Village of Claremont, in the year
1959, the rate or sum of 2.4 Mills on the Dollar, amounting to
the sum of 9$1,043.61 for the aforesaid purposes of the said Police
Village of Claremont in the said year.
