A BY-LAW OF THE TOWNSHIP OF PICKERING DESIGNATING LIMITED RATES OF SPEED
AT WHICH MOTOR VEHICLES MAY BE DRIVEN ON CERTAIN ROADS IN THE TOWNSHIP
OF PICKERING.
.~HEREAS Section 28 of the Highway Traffic Act provides that "No Motor
Vehicle shall be operated at a greater rate of speed than 30 miles per
hour in a built up Area"
AND ~HEREAS the Highway Traffic Act defines a "built up area" as territory
contiguous to a highway not within a city~ town, village or police villase~
where not less than 50% of the frontage upon one side for 600 feet or 50~
of the frontage upon both sides for 300 feet is occupied by dwellings or
dwellings and buildings used for business purposes.
Now therefore the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Picketing
ENACTS AS FOLLOW_~~:
1. The following highways and parts o£ highways in the Township o£
Picketing are designated as "30 miles per hour zones."
