AND GA'RRAGE-FEEDIAG OF SWINE.
'.WHEREAS the Council is of the opinion that the location of garbage-fed
piggeries should be controlled and that regulations should be made
governing such operations, and that a license shall be taken out by the
owner or operator thereof;
AND WHEREAS the Department of Agriculture has placed regulations and
require a license to be obtained before feeding of garbage to swine
is permitted;
AND ';9HEREAS garbage feeding shall be defined as refuse and waste usually
collected from hotels, restaurants, bakeries and condemned foods;
THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOM:SHIP OF PIC ERIP;G
W'TS A3 FOLLOWS:
1. This By-Law shall not apply to any person or organization carrying
on a normal farm operation.
2. Any person or organization carrying on the business or operation of
breeding or operation of a place for the curpose or producing sl-i-p
for sale ,hall obtain a license from the Township of Pickerir,

if garbage feeding is used.
3. Such license s„all be issued by the Treasurer of the Township on

manner required by the Treasurer of the Township.
5. Before any license is issued the Treasurer m-av renuire that the

7. Any such pig;;ery bushes:: Shall be carried on in a m:j_nner that will
not c-nise nuisance by reason of smoke, <nell or noise.
E{. Any licen:.e issued m<,y be cancelled by the Council at any time. A
proportionate part of the license paid shall be repair, for :,ny un-
expired portion of the license term.

10. In the preparation or cooking of meals for swine, rubber tires or
any substance or :aat.erial producing smoke in a manner that the
Health Inspector deems to be a nuisance shall not t:e u:;ed in any
fire or cooking place.
11. The regulations of The -Department of Agriculture shall be complied
with by the owner or operator of any piggery.
12. Any person convicted of a breach of any of the provisions ?;' this
By-Law sh_t11 forfeit an(i pay :1t. the discrF?tion of the.- convicting

Fifty Dollar:: for each offense. Every stuck perialtly shall be re-
