BY-LAW to assess the Municipality of the Township of Pickering,
exclusive of the police Villages of Pickering and Claremont, for
the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, payment of salaries
and the general expenses of the Corporation, in the year 1951; to
.assess the said Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont for
village and township purposes in the said year; to assess the whole
of the said Municipality to defray the cost of Welfare during the
said year; {to assess the whole of the said Municipality for a general
4vV aehool rate, to provide funds for the Township statutory grants to
public schools in the said ,year to assess the whole of the said
Municipality, in the year 1951, for roads and general purposes of
the County of Ontario; and in the same year to assess the whole of
the said Municipality for maintenance and debentures of High Schools,
and to pay fees and transportation for Township pupils attending
other High Schools.

WHEREAS it will require the sum of from that part of the
Municipality of the Township of Pickering apart from the Police
Villages of Pickering and Claremont, for the improvement and repair
of roads and bridges, the payment of salaries and the general expenses

AND WHEREAS it will require the sum of to defray the
generalexpenses of the Police Village of Pickering and to cover
the share of the Police Village in sundry services and expenses
of the Municipality during the said year.

of the Public Schools Act, R.S.0.1937, as the same has been amended
by Section 34 of the Public Schools Amendment Act, 1938, is the sum
of $21,767-11.
AND WHEREAS the County Council of the County of Ontario will require
the levy and collection from and upon all the rateable property in
the Municipality of the Township of Pickering, in the year 1951, of
an amount,for the purposes of the said County,estimated by the County
Treasurer to be $74,261.67.x
AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said
Mun cipa ity, apart from the Police Villages of Pickering and Claremont,
in the year 1951, is $p7,015,116.58. 7 5?
AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said Police
Vil age o Pickering, in the said year, is 63,159.01. : ;
AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said Police
Village of Claremont, in the said year, is $265,,272.31• j;,,
AND WHEREAS the Township of Pickering High School Board has
requ s t oned t27,102.42`for High School purposes in the year S-c`
1951, and such requisition shall be levied over the whole of
the said Township.
AND WHEREAS the total amount of taxable property in the said
Municipality, including all portions thereof, in the said year
1951, is the sum of $7,743,547.90.

BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Municipal Corporation of the
Township of Pickering :-
1. That there be raised, levied and collected from and
upon all the rateable property in the Municipality
,? of the Township of Pickering, exclusive of the Police
Villages of Pickering and Claremont, the rate or sum of
Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of $ 6Y.70
for the improvement and repair of roads and bridges, the
payment of salaries and the general expenses of the
/ Municipality in the year 1951, as stated in the preamble of
this By-law.
2, That there be raised, levied and collected from and
upon all the taxable property in the Police Village
A of Pickering, in the year 1951, the rate or sum of 6
X71 Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of

stated in the said preamble.
3. That there be raised, levied and collected from and

amount to the sum of $6 3'ly % to defrav the cost of
giving welfare to the unem, loved and poor and hospitalization
of same in the said Municipality during the year 1951, as
stated in the said preamble.

5. That there be raised, levied and collected from and
upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality,
including the said Police Villages of Pickering ands s
Claremont, in the year 1951, the rate or sum of 'J ??,9
Mills on the Dollar, which will amount to the sum of $ )Ib
for the purposes of statutory Township grants to the Public
Schools in the said Municipality, in the said year, as
stated in the said preamble.
6. That there be raised, levied and collected from and
upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality
of the Township of Pickering, including the said Police
Villages of Pickering and Claremont, in the year 1951,
the rate or sum of 9 -ti Iv Mills on the Dollar, which will
amount to the sum of yy ?6p,6z for the general purposes
of the Corporation of the County of Ontario, including
maintenance and improvement of County and Suburban roads,
in the said year; as stated in the said preamble.
7. That there be raised, levied and collected from and
upon all the rateable property in the said Municipality
of the Township of Pickering, including the Police Villages
of Pickering and Claremont, in the year 1951, the rate
of sum of 3,;% Mills on the Dollar, which will amount
to the sum ofl for the use of the Township of
Pickering High School Board to operate Claremont and
Pickering Hiph Schools, to pay fees of Pupils attending
High Schools not within the Township of Pickering and
supply transportation of said pupils to same, for the
year 1951•
