A BYLAW TO PROHIBIT TUB RUNNING AT LARGE OF DOMRSTIC ANIMALS WI IN TUB
MUNICIPALITY OF THR TOWNSHIP OF PICRRRIRG AND PROVIDING FOR THE APPOINT-
MENT OF POUND-[RSPBRS THERRIN.
The Municipal Council of The Corporation of the Township of Pickering
ENACTS AS FOLLOWSs
1, From and after the passing of this By-law no person shall permit or
allow any horses, bull, ox, cow, sheep, goat, pig, or other cattle,
,geese or other poultry, of which he may be the owner, or of which he
may have charge, whether temporarily or otherwise, to run at large
upon any public road, street or place in the Township of Pickering,
or to trespass upon private premises or lands therein, whether the
said premises or lands be enclosed or not.
2. For the purpose of carrying out the provisions of this By-law and
of Chapter 301, R.S.O. 1927, entitled "The Pound Act" and any amend-
sents that may hereafter be made thereto, the Corporation of the Town-
ship of Pickering shall annually appoint a sufficient number of Pound-
ksepsrs for the said Township„ and the duties of such Pound-keepers
shall be as prescribed by the said Pound Act and by this By-law,
3. The fees and charges which may be demanded and received by such Pound-
keepers under authority of this By-law and for services under the said
Pound Act shall be as followss

For each and every notice posted pursuant to this By-law, or pursuant
to the said Pound Act, 25 cents;
For sending each and every notice pursuant to this By-law or said
Act, 25 cents, together with the actual disbursements for postage and
advertisement in newspaper,
Pound-keepers shall also be entitled to take and receive a commission
for selling impounded or distrained animals or poultry, two and one-
half per cent of the proceeds of such wale.
To Fence-Viewers for each day attending to examine premises and for
making and delivering awards ;3.00 each.
4. Forms "A", "B"s "C", "D"s and "S" of Schedule annexed to this By-law
shall fors part thereof, and forms sent or used for the purpose of
this By-law, or for the purposes of the said Acts substantially or
of like effects to the forms hereof attached hereto shall be sufficient
for the purposes of this By-law,

any person convicted of a breach of the provisions of this by-law
mespeeting the running at large or trespassing of animals or poultry
within the Township of Pickering shall incur a penalty of not more
than =20., and all such penalties shall be recoverable under The
Summary Convictions Act. 11
One-Hwlf of every penalty recovered under this By-law shall be paid
to the Treasurer of this Municipality and one-half to the private
prosecutors but when the information is laid by an offieer of this
Municipality the whole of the penalty shall be payable to such
Treasurer.
By-Law No. 741 and all other By-laws, or parts of
Corporation of the Township of Pickering, contrary
ant with the provisions of this By-law, be and the
repealed.
