BY-LAW NUMBER
A By-law to appoint a new member to
Council for the term of office expiring
December 31, 1971, due to the resignation
of an elected member.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Township
of Pickering is required under Section 150, Subsection 3
of The Municipal Act to appoint a person to fill the
vacancy for the unexpired term of office of a member whose
seat has become vacant.
AND WHEREAS the Councillors are not elected by general
vote.
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of The
Township of Pickering hereby enacts as follows:
THAT C??? "4?rw.*ccv `: cy 1 ` be and is hereby
appointed to sit as Councillor of Ward 5 in the Township
of Pickering for the unexpired portion of term of the
member of Council whose seat has becom^ vacant and
would normally have expired as of December 31st, 1971;
and further that the said appointees __ «So_ T
assume his duties as Councillor beginning January_2-3,--_-?=7
1971.
