Being a by-law to establish a
Community Centre in the Township
of Pickering
WHEREAS provision is made for the establishment of
Community Centres in Ontario under the Community
Centres Act, R.S.O., 1970, Chapter 73, Section 4 (1);
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Pickering
deems it desirable to establish a Community Centre in
Part Lot 31, Broken Front Range 2 of the Township of
Pickering;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Township of Pickering
has acquired under lease agreement certain lands on
which to construct a Community Hall;
AND WHEREAS said lease permits the construction of
structures upon the said lands;
AND WHEREAS the said lease agreement is between the
Corporation of the Township of Pickering and the
Metropolitan Toronto and Region Conservation Authority;
BE IT THEREFORE ENACTED by the Council of the Township
of Pickering:
1. THAT a Community Centre defined as a Community Hall
and Canoe Club as provided for under the Community
Centres Act, R.S.O., 1970, and regulations there-
under, be established in Part Lot 31, Broken Front
Range 2 of the Township of Pickering;
2. THAT the Community Centre shall be maintained as a
Community Hall and Canoe Club by the Council in
conformity with the Act and regulations made
thereunder.
3. THAT the said Community Hall and Canoe Club will be
known as the West Rouge Canoe Club.
By-law read a first, secopd and third time and PASSED in
open Council this 7 ?/jday of 1973.
