BY-LAW NUMBER I34 7LIL
Being a by-law to authorize an
application to the Ontario Municipal
Board for an Order enlarging the
defined sewer area in the Town of
Pickering.
WHEREAS by By-law #2489 of the Corporation of the Township
of Pickering passed on the 7th day of March, 1960, to
which The Corporation of the Town of Pickering is
successor, Sewer Area #1 was established and defined
as including all land in the Township of Pickering lying
West of the Rouge River in the Township of Pickering
and all those lands lying South of the Provincial Highway
Number 401 to Lake Ontario, and from the Town of Ajax
to the Rouge River:
AND WHEREAS it is deemed necessary to enlarge said defined
Sewer Area by adding thereto a Sewer Area Number 2
and also to amend said Area Number 1 to reflect the new
boundaries of the Town of Pickering created by The
Regional Municipality of Durham Act, 1973;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Town of Pickering intends
to apply to the Ontario Municipal Board for an Order
enlarging the present sewer area pursuant to the provisions
of Section 15 of The Municipal Act, R.S.O. 1970;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town
6f Pickering ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The defined Sewer Area of the Town of Pickering
is hereby enlarged by adding thereto Area
Number 2 comprised of those lands in the said
Town described as follows:
ALL the lands North of Provincial Highway 401
lying between Whites Road on the West and the
Town of Ajax on the East, South of the Ontario
Hydro transmission corridor known as the Gatineau
Power Line.
2. Defined Sewer Area Number 1 of the Town of Pickering
is hereby amended by deleting therefrom the lands
which by the provisions of the Regional Municipality
of Durham Act, 1973 were annexed to the Borough of
Scarborough in the West and the Town of Ajax in the
