Being a By-law to authorize the
Region of Durham to issue Debentures
on behalf of the Town of Pickering
at current interest rate levels.
WHEREAS By-laws Nos. 3687/69, 3949/71, 4041/71, 4172/72,
4186/72 and 4329/73 of The Corporation of the Township
of Pickering, each provide that the cost of the under-
takings authorized thereby be paid by issuing Debentures
bearing interest at the rates per annum specified therein,
all of which rates are below the current rate of interest
for municipal debentures.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN
OF PICKERING ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
THAT notwithstanding the provisions of said By-laws Nos.
3687/69, 3949/71, 4041/71, 4172/72, 4186/72 and 4329/73
of The Corporation of the Township of Pickering, the
Debentures of The Regional Municipality of Durham to be
issued to pay the cost of any of the undertakings referred
to in such By-laws may bear such rate of interest as the
Council of the Regional Municipality of Durham may
determine.
