BY-LAW NUMBER 3-?, 7
Being a By-law to amend By-law 142/74 of
the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
for the licensing, regulating and governing
of taxicab and limousine drivers, owners
and brokers, motor and other vehicles used
for hire, and for establishing the rates
and fares to be charged by the owners or
drivers of such vehicles for the conveyance
of goods or passengers, either wholly within
the municipality or to any point not more
than three miles beyond its limits, and
providing for collection of such rates or
fares and for revoking any such licenses.
WHEREAS it is desirable to amend the Taxicab rates applicable
within the Town of Pickering;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that Schedule I of By-law #142/74
be amended as per Schedule I attached hereto:
AND FURTHER that the amendment come into effect on December 15th 1975.
By-law read a first, second and third time and PASSED in

SCHEDULE ONE
FORMING PART OF BY-LAW NUMBER 3.L V 7 ?
PART ONE: By Distance
One to Four Passengers:
For the first third of a mile or part thereof ...... $ .70
For each additional sixth of a mile or part thereof. .10
For waiting time while under engagement, for each
minute..... .10
For each additional passenger in excess of four .... .20
Baggage (other than shopping or grocery bags)
For each trunk (32 inches by 18 inches by 9 inches
or 3 cu. ft.) .50
Hand baggage if not carried by passenger inside
vehicle per parcel ... .10
Brief cases and parcels of comparable size shall
not be considered as hand
baggage.
Bags and cartons containing groceries (if loaded
and unloaded by driver) per bag ... .10
Up to a maximum of 30 cents
Wheel chairs will be carried free.
PART TWO: By the Hour
For the first hour or part thereof ................$7.00
For each additional fifteen (15) minutes............ 1.00
For each passenger in excess of four - per hour .... .75
Baggage (other than shopping or grocery bags):
For each trunk (32 inches by 18 inches by 9 inches
or 3 cu. ft. .50
Hand baggage if not carried by passengers inside
vehicle per parcel .. .. ... .10
Brief cases and parcels of comparable size shall
not be considered as hand
baggage.
