BY-LAW NUMBER 3 75
Being a By-law of the Corporation
of the Town of Pickering for the
determining, fixing and paying
annual remuneration to the members
of Council and the Mayor
WHEREAS Section 389 (1) of The Municipal Act, Revised Statutes
of Ontario 1970, Chapter 284 provides that Council may pass
By-laws for paying the members of Council such annual allowance
as Council may determine;
The Municipal Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering therefore enacts as follows:
There shall be paid to every member of Council
of the Town of Pickering, except the Mayor, in
each year commencing January 1, 1975, the sum
of $5,450.00 per annum or a lesser amount at
the request of the member of Council in writing
to the Mayor and Treasurer.
2, There shall be paid to the Mayor of the Town
of Pickering, in each year commencing January 1,
1975, the sum of $12,450.00 per annum or a lesser
amount at the request of the Mayor in writing
to the Treasurer. '
3. Each member of Council, other than the Mayor,
shall be paid 15C per mile for each and every
mile travelled on Council business.
4. By-law Number 53/74 is hereby repealed.
