BY-LAW NO. 1047/79
Being a By-Law to fix the salaries of the
Commissioners of the Pickering Hydro-
Electric Commission for the period expir-
ing November 30th, 1980.
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 21
of section 2 of The Durham Municipal Hydro-Electric Service
Act, 1979, S.O. 1979, c.71, the salaries of the members of
the Pickering Hydro-Electric Commission for the period
expiring November 30th, 1980, shall be fixed on-or before
October 1st, 1979, subject to certain conditions; and
WHEREAS, pursuant to the provisions of subsection 1
of section 44 of The Public Utilities Act, R.S.O. 1970, c.
390, the salary of such commissioners shall from time to
time be fixed by the Council of the Corporation of the Town
of Pickering;
NOW THEREFORE, the Council of the Corporation of the
Town of Pickering HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. The salaries of the members of the Pickering
Hydro-Electric Commission for the period expir-
ing with the 30th day of November, 1980 are
hereby fixed in the following amounts:
(a) Chairman ................$2,000 per annum
(b) Commissioner ............ $1,800 per annum.
2. Notwithstanding the provisions of section 1,
each member of the said Commission shall be
paid a further sum of $40.00 per day for each
day in which such member attends a special
meeting approved by the Commission.
3. For the purposes of section 2, the term "special
meeting" shall mean,
(a) conventions and seminars,
(b) any meeting, held during the start-up
process ending July 1st, 1980, of a
designated committee or subcommittee
of the Commission, and
(c) any meeting of the Commission occur-
ring outside the Town of Pickering,
other than a regularly scheduled
meeting of the Commission.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed
this 17th day of September, 1979.
