BY-LAW NUMBER 1386/81
Being a by-law to appoint persons to the
Committee of Adjustment and to fix the
remuneration for its members.
WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 6 of section 48 of The Planning
Act, R.S.O. 1980, c. 379, members of the Committee of Adjust-
ment shall hold office until their successors are appointed,
and are eligible for reappointment, and, where a member ceases
to be a member before the expiration of his term, the council
shall appoint another eligible person for the unexpired portion
of the term; and
WHEREAS pursuant to subsection 11 of section 48 of the said
Act, the members of the committee shall be paid such compen-
sation as the council may provide; and
WHEREAS the term of Margaret Bishop expires on December 31,
1981 and it is deemed expedient to reappoint her for a further
3 year term; and
WHEREAS by letter dated September 28, 1981, Mr. George M. Deane
submitted his resignation as a member of the Committee of
Adjustment effective December 31, 1981 and it is deemed exped-
ient to appoint Lydia Dobbin for the unexpired portion of Mr.
Deane's term; and
WHEREAS by a resolution of the Committee of Adjustment passed
on September 24, 1981 the Committee requested that Council
increase its per diem rate from $30.00 to $40.00;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
1. Section 2130.1.5 of The Town of Pickering Municipal Code
is hereby amended by deleting the following:
Mrs. Margaret Bishop to December 31, 1981
Mr. George M. Deane to December 31, 1983
and substituting the following therefor:
Ms. Lydia Dobbin to December 31, 1983
Mrs. Margaret Bishop to December 31, 1984
2. Section 2140.15.5 of the said Code is hereby amended by
deleting the following:
Committee of Adjustment - $30.00 per meeting
and substituting therefor the following:
Committee of Adjustment - $40.00 per meeting
