BY-LAW NUMBER 1333/81
Being a by-law to amend By-law 264/75 to
establish the speed limit on Greenwood
Road at 50 km/h (30 mph).
WHEREAS pursuant to section 82 of The Highway Traffic Act, R.S.O.
1970, c. 202, as amended, the council of a town may prescribe a
rate of speed for motor vehicles driven on any highway or portion
of a highway under its jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS by By-law 264/75 enacted on July 21, 1975, the Council
of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering did establish various
speed limits for motor vehicles driving on highways under its
jurisdiction; and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend By-law 264/75 to lower
the speed limit on Greenwood Road from 60 km/h (35 mph) to
50 km/h (30 mph);
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering HEREBY ENACTS as follows:
1. Schedule "B" of By-law Number 264/75 is hereby amended by
deleting the following line:
Greenwood Road Concession Road 5 Concession Road 6
2. This by-law shall take effect upon approval by the Regional
Municipality of Durham.
BY-LAW READ a first, second and third time and finally PASSED
this 6th day of July, 1981.
