BY-LAW NUMBER 1522/82
Being a Restricted Area By-law to amend
Restricted Area By-law 2511, as amended,
to implement the Official Plan of the
Town of Pickering District Planning Area,
Region of Durham, on Part of Lot 18,
Concession 1, in the Town of Picketing.
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing
deems it desirable to amend By-law 2511, as amended, to permit
the retail sale of trucks, tractor trailors or associated
truck or tractor trailer parts or accessories in addition to
uses presently permitted on the subject property.
AND WHEREAS an amendment to By-law 2511, as amended, is therefore
deemed necessary;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF '
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. BY-LAW 2511
By-law 2511, passed by the Council of the Corporation of
the Township (now Town) of Picketing on the 5th day of
October 1960, and approved by the Ontario Municipal Board
on the 3rd day of January, 1963, and amended from time to
time, is hereby further amended only to the extent necessary
to give effect to'the provisions of this By-law.
2. TEXT AMENDMENT
Section 16 of By-law 2511, as amended, is hereby further
amended by adding thereto the following subsection:
16.3.12 Part Lot 18, Concession
(l) Definitions
For the purpose of this subsection "Truck Centre"
shall mean land or premises where trucks or tractor
trailers are repaired, fueled or serviced, or are
kept for sale, rental, hire or lease, or where truck
or tractor trailer parts or accessories are kept or
displayed for rent or for wholesale or retail sale.
(2) Provisions
In addition to the provisions of Section 16.1 hereof,
the lands designated M1-3 on Schedule "I" to By-law
may be used for the purpose of a truck centre
in accordance with Section 16.2 provided that the

Outdoor storage shall be permitted in any
yard except the front yard so long as the
area used for outdoor storage purposes does
not exceed 30 percent of the area of the lot.
Retail sale of trucks, tractor trailers or
associated truck or tractor trailer parts
or accessories may be permitted only in
combination with a truck centre provided
that no more than 20% of the gross floor
area of the building or buildings on the lot
is used for retail sale purposes.
3. EFFECTIVE DATE
This By-law shall take effect from the day of passing
hereof, subject to the approval of the Ontario Municipal
Board, if required.
