BY-LAW NO. 1447/82
Being a By-Law to amend By-Law 1008/79
respecting remuneration and expenses
for members of Council and Council-
appointed members of certain local
boards and expenses for Town employees
WHEREAS on June 18th, 1979, pursuant to the provisions of the pre-
decessors of sections 238, 239, 240 and 241 of the Municipal Act,
R.S.O. 1980, c. 302, the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering enacted By-Law 1008/79 providing for the payment of
remuneration and expenses to its members and to its appointees to
local boards and other bodies and of expenses to Town employees;
and
WHEREAS it is deemed expedient to amend certain provisions thereof;
NOW THEREFORE the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
Part 2 of Schedule "C" to By-Law 1008/79, as amended by By-Law
C-17, is hereby revoked and the following substituted therefor:
PART 2 - TRAVEL EXPENSE - PRIVATE AUTOMOBILE
Expense
For distance necessarily travelled
by private automobile,
(i) by a member of Council for the
purpose of attending,
(a)
and
meetings of Council; (b)
meetings of any Council
Committee; or
any other meetings, as an
authorized representative
of Council (except meetings
of the council of the (c)
Regional Municipality of
Durham or of any committee
or local board thereof):
Amount Payable
(ii) by a Town employee on business
of the Town:
from January 1, 1981 to
September 30, 1981,
inclusive:
$0.159 per kilometre or
$0.254 per mile
from October 1, 1981 to
December 31, 1981,
inclusive:
$0.177 per kilometre or
$0.293 per mile
from and after January
1, 1982:
$0.177 per kilometre or
$0.285 per mile
2. Part 3 of Schedule "C" to By-Law 1008/79 is hereby revoked and
the following substituted therefor:

Notes: (1)
Maximum amount payable for convention and seminar
travel expense by private automobile shall be the
amount of actual economy class return air fare
between Toronto and the location of the convention
and seminar; if no scheduled airline serves such
location, this note does not apply.
(2) Air fare will not be paid for trips not exceeding
640 kilometres - 400 miles - return
The provisions of Parts 2 and 3 of Schedule "C" to By-Law 1008/79,
as remade by this By-Law, shall be incorporated in The Town of
Pickering Municipal Code as sections 2140.17 and 2140.18, respec-
tively.
BY-LAW read a first, second and third time and finally passed this
1st day of March , 1982.
