BY-LAW NUMBER 3685/91
Being a By-law to amend Restricted Area (Zoning) By-law 3036, as amended by By-law
3306/89, to implement the Official Plan of the Town of Picketing District Planning Area,
Region of Durham in Blocks 18 to 31 (inclusive), Plan 40M-1643, in the Town of
Pickering. (A 1/91)
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering passed By-law 3306/89
amending By-law 3036, to amend certain development provisions applicable tn the subject
lands;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing now deems it
desirable to amend By-law 3306/89, to permit private parking garages to be located in the front
yards of each property with direct access from the street;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. TEXT AMENDMENTS
(1) Section 5(2)(b)(vi) of By-law 3306/89 is hereby revoked and the following
substituted for it:
(vi) REAR YARD DEPTH (minimum)
7.5 metres
(2) Section 5(2)(b)(vii) of By-law 3306/89 is hereby revoked.
(3) Section 5(2)(b)(xi) of By-law 3306/89 is hereby revoked and the following
substituted for it:

PARKING REQUIREMENTS: minimum one parking
space per dwelling unit
located within a private garage attached to the main building, any vehicular
entrance of which shall be located not less than 6.0 metres from the front lot
line and not less than 6.0 metres from any side h)t line immediately adjoining
a street or abutting on a reserve on the opposite site of which is a street.
(4) Section 5(2)(b)(xii)A of By-law 3306/89 is hereby revoked and the following
substituted therefor:

Uncovered steps and platforms exceeding 1.0 metres in height may project a
maximum depth of 1.8 metres into the required 7.5 metre rear yard so long as
no part thereof shall exceed 1.8 metres in depth or 3.0 metres in width.

Section 5(2)(b)(xii)B of By-law 3306/89 is hereby amended by deleting the words,
"but where vehicular access is provided to the rear yard, the horizontal distance
between buildings shall be not less than 6.0 metres".
(6) Section 6(2) of By-law 3306/89 is hereby amended by deleting the section number
"2.2.1" from the third line of it.
EFFECTIVE DATE
This By-law shall take effect from the day of passing hereof subject to the approwd of the
Ontario Municipal Board, if required.

This By-law shall take effect from the day of passing hereof subject to the approval of the
Ontario Municipal Board, if required.
