BY-LAW NUMBER 2866/88
Being a By-law to amend 6y-law 1676/83, which amended Restricted Area (Zoningj By-law
3036, as amended, to implement the Official Plan of the Town of Pickering District
Planning Area, Region of Durham, in Part of Lot 33, Range 3, Droken Front Concession, in
the Town of Pickering. (A 51/86)
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering passed k3y-law 1676/83,
arnending Zoning By-law 3036, to permit the development of single detached dwellings and
open space to occur on the subject lands being Part of Lot 33, Range 3, Broken Front
Concession, in the Town of Pickering;
AND WHEREAS the Councif of the Corporation ot the Town of Pickering now deems it
desirable to amend By-law 1676/83 to place the portion of the Rouge River valley system on
the subject lands into an appropriate open space zone;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNC[L OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING
HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
EDULE AMENDMENT
Schedule I to 6y-law 1676/83 is hereby amended by replacing the "G"
(Greenbelt/Conservaiion Zone) zone designation thereon wiih the zone designation
"OS-HL-1" (Ope� Space - Hazard Land Zone).
2. TEXT AMENDMENT
(1) Section 2 of By-law 1676/83 is hereby amended by replacing the zone designation "G"
therein with the zone designation "OS-Hl-1".
(2) Se�tions 4(5)(a) to 4(5)(i) inclusive of Dy-law 1676/83 are hereby renumbered
consecutively to 4(6)(a) to 4(6)(i).
(3} Section 4 of By-law 1676/83 is hereby amended by adding thereto the following
subclause:
(5) "Resource Management" shall mean a recreational, educational or scientific
program designed to further the conservation, restoration, development, and
management of renewable natural resources such as water, vegetation, fisheries
and wildlife;
(4) Section 5(2)(a) of By-law 1676/83 is hereby revoked and the following substituted
therefor:
(a) Uses Permitted ("OS-HL-1" Zone)
No person shali within the lands designaied "OS-HL-I" on Schedule I attached
hereto use any lot or erect, alter or use any building or structure for any
purpose except for the following:
(i) conservation of the natural environment, soil and wildlife
(ii} resource management
(b) Zone Requirements ("OS-HL-1° Zone)
No buildings or structures shall be erected, nor any existing buildings or
structures be enlarged, modified or changed, nor shall fill be placed or removed,
except for purposes of flood and erosion control or resource management.

3. BY-LAW 1676/83
By-law 1676/83, as amended, is hereby further amended only to the extent necessary to
give effect to the provisions of this By-law. Definitions and subject matters not
specifically dealt with in this Dy-law shall be governed by the relevant provisions of
6y-law 1676/83, as amended.
4. EFFECTIVE DATE
This By-law shall take effect from the day of passing hereof subject to the approval of the
Ontario M�nicipal Board, if required.
