By-law No,7758/20.
Being a by -law to appoint a Deputy Fire Chief
Whereas Section 6 (1) of the Fire Protection_ and Prevention. Act, 19,97,, S.O. 1997,
Chapter 4, as amended provides that if a fire department is established for the whole or
a part of a municipality, the Council of the municipality shall appoint a fire chief for the
fire department;
And Whereas The Corporation of the City of Pickering has enacted By-law 7334/14
'appointing John Hagg as Fire Chief;
And Whereas Section 6 (6) of the Fire Protection and Prevention Act, 1997, S.O. 1997,
Chapter 4, as amended provides that a fire chief may delegate his or her powers or
duties under sections 14, 19 and 20 and such 'other powers and duties asmay be
prescribed to anyfirefighter or class of firefighters, subject to such limitations,
restrictions or conditions as may be prescribed or set out in the delegation,
Now therefore the Council of The Corporation of the City of Pickering hereby enacts as.
follows:
1' That. Stephen Boyd is hereby appointed Deputy Fire Chief of The Corporation of
the City of Pickering to carry out any and all duties of the Fire Chief in their
absence.
