HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 5736/00THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PICKERING BY-LAW NO. 5736/00 Being a By-law to amend Restricted Area (Zoning) By-law 2511, as amended, to implement the Official Plan of the City of Picketing District Planning Area, Region of Durham in Part of Lot 20, Range 3, B.F.C., in the City of Pickering. (A 24/00) WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the City of Pickering passed By-law 784/78, on April 17, 1978, amending By-law 2511, as amended, to permit an "eating establishment" on the subject lands; AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the City of Picketing now deems it desirable to amend By-law 2511 as amended by By-law 784/78, to add "place of religious assembly" as a permitted use on the subject lands; NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE CITY OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: TEXT AMENDMENT Section 14.4.1 of By-law 2511, as added by By-law 784/78, is hereby revoked and replaced with the following: 14.4.1 Part Lot 20, Range 3 Notwithstanding the provisions of Section 14.1 hereof, the lands designated "C2-1" on Schedule "A" attached hereto and located in Part of Lot 20, Range 3, may be used only for the purpose of either an eating establishment as defined herein, or a place of religious assembly which shall mean lands or premises where people assemble for worship, counseling, educational, contemplative or other purposes of a religious nature, which may include social, recreational, and charitable activities, and offices for the administration thereof, in accordance with the provisions of Sections 14.2 and 14.3 hereof. BY-LAW 2511 By-law 2511, as amended, is hereby further amended only to the extent necessary to give effect to the provisions of this By-law. Definitions and subject matters not specifically dealt with in this By-law shall be governed by relevant provisions of By-law 2511, as amended. BY-LAW read a first, second, and third time and finally passed this 2000.
