BY-LAW NUMBER 4170/93
Being a by-law to amend By-law 1887/84
(Business Licensing) to provide for an
increased licence fee for markets.
WHEREAS pursuant to section 11 of By-law 1887/84 (Business
Licensing), as amended by By-law Number 3928/92, upon
application on the prescribed form for a licence for a
market or proposed market, a licence may be issued on
payment of a fee of $4,400.00 per operating day; and
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering has deemed it expedient to increase the said fee
to $4,500.00 per operating day;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN
OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Section 11 of By-law 1887/84 as amended by By-law
3928/92 is hereby deleted and the following
substituted therefor:
11) Upon application on the prescribed form for a
licence for a market or proposed market, a
licence may be issued on payment of a fee of,
1) $200.00 per operating day where the market
is comprised of less than 100 stalls,
2) $4,500.00 per operating day where the market
is comprised of 100 or more stalls,
3) For the purpose of this section, the word
"stall" shall mean an area within a market
from which a person is selling a product or
service.
2. This by-law shall take effect on March 1, 1993.
3. By-law Number 3928/92 is hereby repealed.
By-law read a first, second and third time and finally
passed this 15th day of February, 1993.
