BY-LAW NUMBER 4526/94
Being a By-law to adopt Amendment Number 87 to the District Plan for the Town
of Picketing (OPA 93-007/P
WHEREAS pursuant to the Planning Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter P.13, Subsections 17(6) and
21(1), the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing may by by-law adopt
amendments to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing, being an official plan, and submit
them to the Region of Durham for approval.
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:
1. Amendment Number 87 to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing, attached hereto as
Exhibit "A" and including the Explanatory Text, is hereby adopted.
2. The Clerk of the Town of Picketing is hereby authorized and directed to submit
Amendment Number 87 to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing to the Region of
Durham for approval.
3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of the final passing hereof.

AMENDMENT NO. 87
TO THE
TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN
(Fairport Community: Frenchman's Bay and Shoreline Community Plan)
AMENDMENT NO. 87 TO THE PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN
(Fairport Community: Frenchman's Bay and Shoreline Community Plan)
PURPOSE: The purpose of this amendment is to permit a residential use on a :
specific property within the lands designated "Marine Recreation
Area" in addition to the currently permitted water-oriented '~:
recreational and commercial uses.
LOCATION: The subject lands are located on the south side of Wharf Street
abutting the east shore of Frenchman's Bay, in the Town of
Picketing.
BASIS: The amendment has been determined to be appropriate as it will
allow residential use of the property and allow the
renovationJreconstmctinn of an existing lawful non-conforming
residential dwelling on the property without compromising the
achievement of marine recreation uses on the property.
ACTUAL The Town of Picketing District Plan (Fairport Community:
AMENDMENT: Frenchman's Bay and Shoreline Community Plan) is hereby
amended by:
Adding the following as a third paragraph under Section 2.C.:
Notwithstanding any other provisions of this Plan, in addition to
the above-noted water-oriented recreational and commercial uses, a
detached residential dwelling unit may be permitted on those lands
on the south side of Wharf Street, adjacent to Frenchman's Bay,
known as Lot 18, Plan M-89
IMPLEMENTATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Picketing Dis~ict Plan, as
amended, regarding the implementation of the Plan shall apply
with regard to this Amendment.
INTERPRETATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Picketing District Plan, as
amended, regarding the interpretation of the Plan shall apply with
regard to this Amendment.
