HomeMy WebLinkAboutBy-law 4828/96 THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING BY-LAW NUMBER 4 82 8/96 Being a By-law to adopt Amendment Number 91 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering (OPA 95-001/P) WHEREAS pursuant to the Pla~ing Act, R.S.O. 1990, chapter P.13, Subsections 17(6) and 21(1), the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Picketing may by by-law adopt amendments to the District Plan for the Town of Picketing, being an official plan, and submit them to the Region of Durham for approval. NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. Amendment Number 91 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering, attached hereto as Exhibit "A" and including the Explanatory Text, is hereby adopted. 2. The Clerk of the Town of Pickering is hereby authorized and directed to submit Amendment Number 91 to the District Plan for the Town of Pickering to the Region of Durham for approval. 3. This By-law shall come into force and take effect on the day of final passing hereof. READ A FIRST AND SECOND TIME THIS 6 th DAY OF August ,1996. WAYNE ARTHURS MAYOR Exhibit "A" to By-law 4 82 ~ /96 AMENDMENT NO. 91 TO THE TOWN OF PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN (Liverpool Community Plan) AMENDMENT NO. 91 TO THE PICKERING DISTRICT PLAN (Liverpool Community Plan) PURPOSE: The purpose of this amendment is to permit the development of medium density residential uses. LOCATION: The subject lands have an approximate area of 2.85 hectares, and are located at the southwest comer of Brock Road and Third Concession Road. The lands are generally described as Part of Lot 19, Concession 2, in the Town of Picketing. BASIS: The appropriateness of this amendment is based on technical studies and design plans which confirm that medium density residential development can occur on the subject lands. The introduction of medium density residential forms contributes to the diversification of housing types in the existing neighbourhood, and assists in achieving Provincial and Town objectives of providing affordable housing. ACTUAL AMENDMENT: The Town of Pickering District Plan (Liverpool Community Plan) is hereby amended as follows: 1. By amending Schedule III A as indicated on Exhibit "A" attached to this amendment. IMPLEMENTATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Picketing District Plan, as amended, regarding the implementation of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment. INTERPRETATION: The provisions set forth in the Town of Pickering District Plan, as amended, regarding the interpretation of the Plan shall apply in regard to this Amendment.
