Being a By-law to amend Restricted Ama (Zoning) By-law 3036, as amended by
By-laws 1521/82, 2495/87 and 4655/95, to implement the Official Plan of the
Town of Pickering District Planning Area, Region of Durham, in Block 22, Plan
40M-1365, in the Town of Picketing. (A 4/95)
WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering passed By-law 1521/82,
amending By-law 3036, to permit the development of detached dwellings, semi-detached
dwellings, a neighbourhood park and a commercial block on the subject lands, being Block 22
Plan 40M-1365, in the Town of Picketing;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering passed By-law
2495/87, amending By-law 1521/82, to permit professional offices within the commercial zone
of the subject lands, being Block 22, Plan 40M-1365, in the Town of Pickering;
AND WHEREAS the Ontario Municipal Board approved By-law 4655/95, further amending
By-law 1521/82, to permit business offices, financial institutions and retail stores within the
commercial zone of the subject lands, being Block 22, Plan 40M-1365, in the Town of ?ickering;
AND WHEREAS the Council of the Corporation of the Town of Pickering now deems it
desirable to further amend By-law 1521/82, as amended by By-laws 2495/87 and 4655/95, to
permit commercial schools on the subject lands, being Block 22, Plan 40M-1365, Town of
Pickering;
NOW THEREFORE THE COUNCIL OF THE CORPORATION OF THE TOWN OF
PICKERING HEREBY ENACTS AS FOLLOWS:

(1) Section 4, DEFINITIONS, of By-law 1521/82, as amended by By-laws 2495/87 and
4655/95 is hereby further amended by adding thereto the following definition:
" ' "shall mean a school which is operated for gain or profit
and may include the studio of a dancing teacher or music teacher, or an art
school, a golf school or any other such school operated for gain or profit;
(2) Section 4, DEFINITIONS, of By-law 1521/82 as amended by By-laws 2495/87 and
4655/95 is hereby further amended by m-alphabetizing the DEFINITION section to
accommodate the amendment in Section 1. of this By-law.
(3) Section 5. (3) (a) of By-law 1521/82, as amended by By-laws 2495/87 and 4655/95, is
hereby further amended by adding thereto the following use:
"commercial school"

(4) Section 5. (3) (a) of By-law 1521/82, as amended by By-laws 2495/87 and 4655/95, is
hereby further amended by renumbering the uses permitted to accommodate the
amendment in Section 1.(3) of this By-law.
(5) Section 5. (3) (b) (x) B of Bylaw 1521/82 as amended by By-laws 2495/87 and
4655/95, is hereby further amended by adding the words "commercial schools" between
the words "business offices" and "financial institutions";
This By-law shall take effect from the day of passing hereof subject to the approval of the
Ontario Municipal Board, if required.
