DELEGATIONS
Mrs. Roberta Pennel J. 1958 Southview Drive, addres5ed
Council with respec~ to fencin9 between Silwell/Berma,
J.D.S. Investments and lJerself. She stated she does
not want a wood fence but prefers the chain link fence
for her property which abuts both Silwell/Berma's and
J.D.S.'s developments. She asked if a walkway is
proposed at the south end of Southview Drive and if it
would be fenced.
Mr. Shoel Silver, Vice-President of Silwell
Developments stated the issue of the walkway at the
south end of Southview Drive was dealt with in 1980.
He stated that the letter dated SeptenÐer 18. 1987
outlining their proposal to the reside~ts of Southview
Drive have been agreed to. He requested Council to
not amend the subd iv is ion agreement because it will
delay the registering of the subdivision.
Mr. Stanley Riste, Claremont. addressed Council with
respect to curb construction. He stated the
construction of cut curbs at Wellington Street and
Brock Road will restrict vehicular access to his
business and deprive him of his livelihood. He
requested Council to reconsider its decision and
construct rolled curbs.
Mr. Don Vale spoke on behalf of Mr. Hedges whose
property is next to Mr. Riste's. He stated the
driveway between the two buildings is only nine feet.
two inches wide. He requested special consideration
for Mr. Hedges in order that he can park his car in
front of his house on a paved boulevard.

ten years and that the driveway is used to store
garbage and derelict vehicles. He asked th~t Council

Now Therefore it is resolved that the Clerk of the Corporation

Letter of Cred it to guarantee that the Town serv ices in a plan
of subdivision are constructed and 8ðintained in conformity with
the subdivision agreement; and
Whereas the standard subdivision agree.ent states that a Letter
of Credit wiTT be in the allQunt of sixty percent (601) of tht'
develope~ls consultant's estimate for constructing a
subdivision; ðnd
Whereas the Council of the Town of Pickering has receivi'd 11!ðt1,)1
comp 1a ints from homeowners indicat 1ng that SOllIe serv ices bre not
being completed in accordance wfth the Town frames and stðndards
set out in the subdivision agreement;
Now therefore the Council of the Corpofðt Ion of the Town of
Pickering hereby establishes a policy whereby the amount of the
Letter of Credit will be bet~n sixty percent (60S) and one
hundred percent (1001) of the developer's consultant's estimate
for constructing a subdivision; and
