Father Stuart Watson. 916 Vistula Drive. addressed
Council to speak in support of the application of Mrs.
Marion Tyler to operate a day nursery at 9'4 Vistula
Drive. He stated that the Tyler's will provide quality
care for the children and any changes made to the
property to accommodate this operation will look nice.
Mr. Peter Tyler. 914 Vistula Drive. addressed Council to
speak in support of the application to operate a day
nursery in his house. He outlined his wife's
qualifications as a day nursery teacher and indicated
that there will be a maximum of 12 children in the house
at any time.
Mrs. Harion Tyler, 914 Vistula Drive. addressed Council
to speak in support of the application to operate a day
nursery in her house. She stated that she will be able
to construct a circular driveway on her property and
that traffic will be minimal.

Item 13 was amended by deleting therefroQ the entire
recommendation and substituting therefor the following:
That By-law Amendment Application A 8/84 submitted by P. and M.
Tyler to rezone the subject lands being lot 367. Plan M-17. to an
appropriate zoning to permit the establishment of a Type 'c Day
Nursery' within the existing single detached dwelling. in addition
to the uses presently permitted under the existing zoning. be
approved subject to the following condition:

WHEREAS the Planning Act 1983 requires that municipal official
plans contain provisions r~lating to community improvement in the
municipality; and
WHEREAS community improvement policies have to be incorporated
into the Pickering District Plan in order to enable the Town to
participate in available Provincial programs; and
WHEREAS a study is needed to establish appropriate community
improve~~nt policies and delineate community improvement areas;
NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED THAT:
The Council of the Town of Pickering. having reviewed the Term3 of
Reference for the Community Improvement Policies Study.
respectfully requests that the Minister of Municipal Affairs and
Housing provide the Town with financial assistance for the study
under the Community Planning Study Grant Program.

directed the Town Manlser to request that the
Region not sell the portion of lands now used by
the Town for a parking lot and in lieu of this.
