Seconded by .councillor Stoner
That the Executive .committee Report dated February 27. 1984. be
adopted with the following amendment:
Item 14 was amended by deleting therefrom the stated
recommendation and substituting therefor the following:
"That the recommendation of the Director of Parks and Recreation
dated February 13. 1984. with respect to Special Facility Permit
requests for .community Schools be received;
and that the Durham Board of Education be advised that the Town of
Pickering feels that the designation of schools for special
purposes be the perogative of the Board.

Being a by-law to amend the Town of Pickering Municipal Code to
adopt the 1984 estimates of all sums required during the year for
the purposes of the Municipality of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering. and to provide for the levying of the rates re~ulting
therefrom and to levy the rates nece~sary to cover the estimated
1984 levy from the Council of the Corporation of the Regional
Municipality of Durham.

Being a by-law to authorize the execution of a Subdivision
Agreement betwern K.S.W. Developments Incorporated and the
Corporation of the Town of Pickering respecting the development of

the same. and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.

OTHER BUSINESS
'ouncillor Arthur~ praised Councillor Stoner on her work
in alleviating problem~ at the Brock West Landfill Site.
Councillor Cahill reported that the Regional Works
Committee will be considering a report on the GO-ALRT
and this report involves the closing of the Liverpool
Road interchange and improvements to the intersection of
Brock Road anJ Bayly Street.
Councillor Cahill sugge~ted that a letter be sent to
Runnymede Development~ praising them for promoting the
Town of Pickering in their advertisements for the
Glundale II subdivision.
Councillor Mitchell reported that the owner of the plaza
at the corner of West Shore Boulevard and Bayly Street
i~ prepared to fence the property.
Councillor Kitchen reported that the Ministry of
Transpoctation and Communications will be erecting ~igns
on Highway 1401 to adverti~e Pickering.
Mayor Anderson requested staff to prepare a report on
regulating the hours of operation of convenience stores.

The Ex~cutive Ccmmittee of the Town ^f Pickering having met
February 27. 1984 and presents its fourth report to the Council of
the Town of PIckering and recommends:

That St. Andrews Lodge. No. 28 Sunrise Club. be allowed
to conduct bingo games on Wednesdays for a six week
period and any bingo licence renewJl application shall
be approved only if there is no licence application
pending from a Town of Pickering group.

ACCESSIBLE TELEPHONES

That the Council of the Corporation of the Town of
Pickering hereby supports the Emergency Coalition for
Accessible Telephones in its petition to the Federal
Cabinet to rule that all new telephones in Canada be
made compatible with hearing aids;
and that a copy of this resolution be forwarded to the
Honourable Francis Fox. Minister of Communications and
Mr. Scott Fennell. M.P.
