(II ) RESOLUTIONS Resolution #12/84 - See Appendix #1 Moved by Councillor Robertson Seconded by Councillor Arthurs That the Executive Committee Report dated February 13. 1984. be adopted. with the following amendment: Item #1 was Tabled. Moved by Councillor Kitchen Seconded by Councillor Mitchell That Tender T-I-84 submitted by Arenaquip Limited for the supply of one ice resurfacing machine in the amount of $25.469.32 be approved. CARRIED Resolution 114/84 Moved by Councillor Mitchell Seconded by Councillor Stoner That Tender T-5-84 submitted by Sheridan Chev-Olds for the supply of one 2 1/2 ton truck in the amount of $19.174.55 be approved. CARRIED Resolution #15/84 Moved by Councillor Robertson Seconded by Councillor Stoner That Tender T-2-84 submitted by G. C. Duke Equipment Limited for the supply of one riding mower in the amount of $8.881.00 (demonstrator unit) or $9.202.00 (demonstrator unit). subject to availability, or $9.844.00 (new unit) be approved. CARRIED Resolution 116/84 Moved by Councillor Stoner Seconded by Councillor Arthurs That Tender T-4-84 submitted by Sainthill Levine Uniforms and Stokes Cap and Regalia for the supply of uniforms and caps for the Fire Department be approved as outlined in the memorandum of the Town Clerk dated February 13. 1984. Moved by Councillor Robertson Seconded by Councillor Mitchell That Tender T-4-84 submitted by Aero Mode Limited for the SUP~-i of uniforms for the Fire and Transit Departments in the amount of $9.168.00, be accepted. CARRIED 3/84 - 15 - Resolution 118/84 . Moved by Councillor Robertson Seconded by Councillor Mitchell That the Corporatio~ of the Town of Pickering hereby recognizes and supports the Maple Ridg~ Neighbourho01 Watch; and that the Town be responsible for the erection and maintenance of signs on behalf of the Maple Ridge Neighb, ¡rhood Watch CARRIED (III) BY-LAWS Councillor Kitchen seconded by Councillor Robertson moved for leave to introduce By-laws of the Town of Pickering: By-law Number 1793/84 Being a by-law to authorize the execution of an agreement between the Corporation of the Towns of Ajax. Pickering and Whitby and the Ontario Scciety for the Prevention of Cruelty to ~nimals to provide for joint animal contr~l services. By-law Number 1794/84 Being a by-law to authorize executior of an Agreement of Purchase and Sale and consequent Deed conveying part of Lot 18. Concession 1. Pickering to 419714 Ontario Limited By-law Number 1795/84 Being a by-law to authorize the execution of an Agreement of Purchase and Sale cQnveying part of Bayvipw Road (Parts 1. 2.3.4 and 5; Plan 40R-5715) to Samuel W. Huston and Hazel R. Huston. THIRD READING Councillor Kitchen. seconded by Councillor Robertson moved that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-law Numbers 1793/84. 1794/811. and 1795/84 be adopted. and that the said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED. and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same. and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. II, 5. . 3/811 - 16 - OTHER BUSINESS Councillor Arthurs enquired as to the status of Council's re'.".st to M. T, C. for a study of the speed limi ts 01'. Hi",nway 12. Councillor Kitchen enquired as to the status of the reque~t to M.T.C. to change the si¿nage 01'. Highway 401 identifying the Town of Pickering. Councillor Mitchell requested that the Municipality arrange to have the material dumped on the Imperial Oil property at the north-east corner of Oklahoma and White's Road levelled. Councillor Stoner introduced the following Notice of Motion: Resolution 119/811 Moved by Councillor Stoner Sec~nded by Councillor Kitchel'. That Metropolita~ Toronto be requested to cease dumping of all sewage sludge at the Brock West Landfill Site. CARRIED The following matters were discussed prior to the regular meeting: a) Council met with repr~sentatives of C.U.P.E. Local 129 concerning a grievance lodged by the Union. The grievance was denied. b) Council a,reed to ~llow Hr. Rosner access tv the well at the Green iver Community Centre. subject to his entering into a satisfactory agreement and the approval of any connection by the Parks and Recreation Department. c) Council considered a request of January 29. 19811 from the Part-time Firefighters an] agreed to contribute up to $700.00 towards the restoration costs of this fire truck. d) Council considered a~ Offer to Sell the land, abutting the present Municipal Building by Mrs. Margaret E. Clarke. Council decided not to pursue the lIatter. e) The Town Manager reported 01'. the cutting of two trees on the Jones' property. north of the Mount Zion Community Centre. Council directed th8t the Municipality plant two maple trees of a minillum of three inch calibre to replace the trees taken down.
