36 acres is bein. developed and the rest of the lands
are in the flood plain. The developable portion of this
subdivision will yield only 11.5 units per acres as
opposed to 6 units per acres in the abuttins
subdi vision.

Councillor Cahill. seconded by Councillor Robertson moved that the
report of the Collmittee of the Whole on By-law Number 1770/83.
17711/8Q. 1775/811. 17771811. 1778/84. 1779/811. 1780/811.. 17811811.
1782/84. 1783/8Q. 178. /811 and 1785184 be adopted. and that the
said By-laws be now read a Third Time and PASSED. and tnat the
Mayor and Clerk sisn the same. and the Seal o~ the Corporation be
affixed thereto.

OTHER_BUSINESS
Councillor Arthurs stated that snow resoval services in
the rural a,ea is deteriorating and should be studied.
Councillor Stoner asked to be advised of the time in the
lIorning when snow plowing comsences ;n the rural area.
and the nusber of plows in use in comparison to
population increases.
Councillor Stoner stated that the Liverpool Road bridge
over Hilhway 1401 is very dangerous due to ice and snow
and should be sade safe.
Councillor Stoner requested staff to obtain traffic
counts on the Brock Road. Liverpool Road and Whites Road
interchanges fros the Ministry of Transportation and
Co.sunications and inforll the Ministry to erect a sign
indicating the Liverpool Road interchange.
Councillor Hitchell asked that the snow plowing of the
sidewalk on the Whites Road bridge over Highway 1401
cnntinue and be a high priority.
Councillor Kitchen stated that a priority list of roads
to be plowed should be prepared.
Mayor Anderson clarified a news article that appeared in
the leva Advertiser by stating that the anticipated lIill
rate increase for municipal purposes will be 5.11.

finall, passed and that the Mayor and Clerk sign the same an1 that
the Seal of the Corpor~tion be thereto affixed.

TOWN OF PICKERING
The Executive Committee of the Town of Pickering having met
January 9. 1984 and pre~ents its first report to the Council of
the Town of Pickering and recommends:

Whereas Section 496 of the Hunicipal Act. R.S.O., 1980.,
transfers and responsibility for the hearing of the
applications for cancellation. reduction or refund of taxes
to the Council of the Municipality;
AND WHEREAS notices in writing of applications have been
received by the Clerk of the Municipality for the
cancellation. reduction and refund of taxes for various
reasons;
AND WHEREAS upon investigation and reoeipt of reasonable
explanations all claims have been substantiated;
BE IT THEREFORE RESOLVED that the Council of the Town of
Pickering accept the following list of applications and
authorize the adjustment of taxes in the amount of $3.511.73.
