Mr. David Crichton, a resident of the Riverside subdivision,
was concerned as to what were the intentions of the Metro and
Toronto Region Conservation Authority as regards taking over the
properties at Riverside. Mr. Crichton felt that it was only

definite time, whether it be 2, 5, or 10 years when the Authority

Reeve Scott explained that the policy of the Authority was to
purchase properties in such areas where the owners wished to sell;
that there was no danger of immediate expropriation. He also
stated the rate of acquisition by the Authority would depend on
the funds available each year, but he felt sure the Riverside
properties would be acquired within 10 years.
The Deputy Clerk was instructed to write the Conservation Authority
and ask for definite information as to when these properties
would be taken over by them.
