A Meeting of Council was held on WEDNESDAY, the TENTH day of SEPl'EMBER"
1958, at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.

Reeve Lawson stated that following Resolution of Council that permitted
the Reeve and Deputy Reeve to negotiate with the Town of Ajax for a water
supply, they had met with Mr. Nunn of The Ontario Municipal Board and
Dr. Berry of Ontario Water Resources Commission who were both sympathetic
to one pumping station to supply Town of Ajax, Villace of Pickering and
Township of Pickering.
After considerable discussion the following Resolution was passed.
RESOLUTION NUMBER 169
MOVED by Mr. Stewart, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that
WHEREAS the Town of Ajax is considering the construction of a new water
intake and water pumping plan to serve the said Town;
AND WHEREAS it is desirable that one water plant only to supply the Town
of Ajax and the Township and Village of Pickering should be constructed
from both a planning and eoonomic view point;
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the Municipal Corporation of
the Township of Pickering that the Town of Ajax be requested to:
(a) share the cost of oonstruction and ownership of the said plant with
the Township of Pickering and it requested with the Village ot ~ckering
on a basis to be agreed upon by the respective Municipalities; or
(b) request the Ontario Water Resources Commission to build the said
plant and permit the Township and Village of Pickering to share the
facilities of the said plant with the Town of Ajax.

On MOTION of Mr. Stewart the meeting adjourned.
