Stewart, that Minutes of Meeting held January 20, 1958, be adopted. CARRIED The following CORRESPONDENCE was read: 1. Mr. John Hamer, Secretary-Treasurer of the South Ontario Federation of Agriculture, requests that a one-half mill be added to farmers on 1958 Tax Roll for the Federation's uSe. 2. W. F. Crawford, Concession 2, Lot 13, applied for a Wrecking License. Mr. Thompson reported he required a proper fence before he. would recommend. Council require fence to be built before license issued. Mr. Thompson advise Mr. Crawford. 3. Sam Kinrys, owner of 7.61 acres in south half Lot 30, Concession 1, has made application for a Wrecking Yard. A. J. Thompson reports 12 objectors, four out, and 1 in favour. Recommends no license be granted. Also, ·we have a petition of 20 names of owners in the area who object to such license being granted. 4. His Honour Jud~e Pritchard advises that he will haud down his decision re Consumers' Gas Appeal at Brougham, March 12, at 2 P. M. 5. Our Solicitor recommends that TO'fflShip accept Mr. Rockman's offer to purchase the south half sideline between Lots 4 and 5, Concession 1, for $1,500.00, providing Mr. Rockman secure proper title. Mr. Rockman owns all the lands on both sides of the road. - 6. T. M. Moore advises he has asked his Toronto agent to discontinue action against Griffin Hotel, and that Defendent is entitled to tax costs to date of discontinuance. .¡ ,- 7. Owners of home on Lots 106-107. Plan 319, request a letter of tolerance: Setback short I!", sideyard short Ii". 8. A. M. Realty submit lease for their use, for parking, of part of our road allowance opposite Block "A", for approval. Referred to our Solicitor. 9. Bùildin~ Inspector reports 11 January Permits, valued at $161,100.00, including 2 houses.averaging $14,500.00. 10. Hon. Hichael Starr advises that the Federal Government pay 50% of cost of work in connection with access roads and roadside park arp-as, providing 50% of the cost goes to wages. He recommends that Township contact the Minister of Public Works for Ontario. Clerk directed to so do and advise Riverside Ratepayers' Association. -- 11. Canadian Mental Health Association request grant. Referred to Finance Committee. :'12. Thirty-Six streets were founil to have conflicting names. CARRIED Mr. Lawson reported: (1) That Mrs. McPherson, Police Chief, and himself met Mr. McNee, Manager Traffic, and Earl Palmer, Solicitor of the Department of Highways, a1"ò requested a 40 mile speed limit on Hi~hway 2 from Liverpool Road to Rouge River with special consideration for a lower limit in Dun- barton and am und Stroud's Store. Nessrs. jvIcNee and Palmer gave the dele- ~a tion to understand that consideration would be given, ·and rew signs erected in about 2 months. (2) That COlli1cil should get a report on our present water system servin~ east of Rouge River ir Fosebank Area. Councillor Stewart reported the Fire Area 2 Committee requested a cement floor in their Fire Hall. AGREED Fire Committee meet in No.1 Fire Hall February 12th, at 8 P. Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Hawthorne, moves that By-Law Number 2294 to appoint a Warhle Fly Inspector for the year 1958, he now read a second time, and that Courocil ~o into COf1J!1ittee of t.he Whole thereon. The Committee of the Whole arises af1d reports the By-law as read. Mr. James, seconded by Mr. Stewart, moves that the report of the Committee of the Whole on By-Law Number 2294 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk si~n the same, and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto.
