A Meeting of Council was held on MONDAY, the TWELFTH day of NOVEMBER, 1956,
at EIGHT o'clock in the evening.

The following CORRESPONDENCE was read:
1. John Norton, offer of $ 5,000.00 for Crushing Plant re-introduced.

Resignation George Will as member Court of Revision because he has sold
his business.

A. J. Thompson reported quite a number objections to a Kennel License
being granted Charles E. Roberts, Concession 2, Lot 22.
Pickering Beach Association listed twelve members who would be available
during day as fire fighters.

The fOllowing PERSONS on MOTION, were heard:
1. Mr. Giffen, of Giffen Truck and Equipment, agent for Brockway.
2. Mr. Baker, Liverpool Ratepayers Association re:
1. Widening Glendale Drive entrance at Highway 2. Road Department waiting
for approval from Department of Highways of Ontario.
2. Drainage at rear of some six lots on west side of Glendale Avenue, some
600 feet north Highway 2. Association agreed to get consent of all
owners affected for ditch.

Mr. D. Morgan and delegation of owners on No. 2 Highway between Dixie Road
and Liverpool Road presented a petition of thirteen names asking that both
sides of No. 2 Highway for 700 feet deep be zoned for residential.
Messrs. Dick. T*as and Waters, of School Area No. 2 asked that By-Law for
funds of new sc 001 be chan~ed from $ 135,000.00 to $ 163,000.00, but later
thought it could be cut to '150,000.00. The breakdown was as follows:

Douglas PIitz asked for a ruling on method of calculating overtime pay.

OVED by Mr. Lawson, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, that Township employ Mr. R. G.
odson as Township Engineer at salary of $ 6,000.0~per year and $¢ per mile for

956, subject to approval of the Department of Highways. CARRIED
OVED by Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Pugh, that Jos. Burrows' Tender of $15,4$0.45

BY-LAW NUMBER 2181
Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law
of the Township of Pickering to designate an area of subdivision control
over registered plans, and that same now be read a first time.
Mr. Scott, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, moves that By-Law Number 2181 to
designate an area of subdivision control over registered plans, be now
read a second time, and Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By-Law as read.
Mr. Scott, seconded by Mr. Pugh, moves that the report of the Committee of
the Whole on By-Law Number 2181 be adopted, and that the said By-Law be
now read a Third time and PASSED; that the Reeve and Clerk sign the same,
and the Seal of the Corporation be affixed thereto. CARRIED
BY-LAW NUMBER 2182
Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Scott, moves for leave to introduce a By-Law
of the Township of Pickering to amend By-Law Numœr 2112 and appoint a new
member to the Court of Revision, and that same now be read a first time.
Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mrs. McPherson, moves that By-Law Number 2182
to amend By-Law Number 2182 to amend By-Law Number 2112 and appoint a new
member to the Court of Revision, be now read a Second time, and that
Council go into Committee of the Whole thereon.
The Committee of the Whole arises and reports the By~Law as read.
Mr. Pugh, seconded by Mr. Lawson, moves that the report of

CLERK'S INSTRUCTIONS
1. Phone Mr. Blacktopp and Mr. Barclay re Tenders on Rosebank Road.
2. Prepare new By-Law for Dunbarton School.
3. Notify Mr. C. Schwalm that Council are trying to get a full time Dog
Catcher.
4. Check with Joe Burrows about sales tax on trucks.
5. Ask Mr. Godson to see Mr. Gilpin and his water problem in Forest and
Stream.
